You had a bad day...

Drew's aide told me he had another bad day today at school. Now I have that song by Daniel Powter in my head. "You had a bad day, you're taking one down, you sing a sad song just to turn it around..." Ok, back to my blog post. I guess Drew is having trouble adjusting to being at school again after Christmas break. We took him off the Abilify he was right before Christmas. It seemed to make him more agitated and emotional. He'd cry at the drop of a hat. After talking with his aide and having her see no real improvement either, we decided to drop the Abilify.

Blake had a substitute aide today at school. And she said he did really well. I was glad to hear that. Yesterday his intervention teacher sent home a paper with the sentence "Blake can see a clock" on it, along with a note that he can read that sentence. Yeah! I tested him on it at home, and he read it for me as well.

On Monday, I went to the dentist to get a possible cracked tooth checked out. The dentist's assistant had me bite down on something to see if it hurt me. When I did that, my tooth broke. They took an X-ray and the dentist smoothed out the edges. I wasn't having any pain at the moment, so he didn't cover it. But as soon as I left the office, it started hurting fiercely. I went back in and told them, and they called in a prescription for me for Tylenol 3. I had to make an appointment with an endodontist to have a lovely root canal. That's not until next Wednesday, though. I am having so much pain that I am going back to my dentist for him to put a temporary covering over my broken tooth. Yuck! Waah! Boo! Hiss.

My nephew Kyle started school at a new school this week. He moved from the school where Drew goes to a Multiple Disabilities unit in the public school system. So far, he loves it, and his teacher seems eager to make it a good experience for him. There is another student with Fragile X there, and Kyle says he sounds like Blake when he talks. he he.

I hate winter. Why does snow have to be so cold?

I pouting for you right now. I had a root canal when I was pregnant. That was not a fun day. =( I am a dentist wimp, though.

Punkin can't quite decide what he thinks of school, either. Yesterday he was happy, bouncy, and lovey, but today he was emotional and overly sensitive.
