The Dayton Mall has a time for kids with autism to visit with Santa without all the hustle and bustle. Yesterday was that day. They turn off the Christmas music, the lights and try to make it less stimulating. It is from 9-11 in the morning, before the mall opens.
It was much busier than last time. We had to wait in line for an hour. An hour. Try to imagine a line of kids with autism and their parents waiting that long! Drew was ok as long as he could see the elevator. He did try to escape a few times. Blake goofed around for awhile in line.
When we finally got up to see Santa, Drew went right up there and stood next to him. He talked to Santa a little bit, though I am not sure what they talked about. I was trying to get Blake off the floor. He was a bit nervous about seeing Santa and pulled his shirt over his head. Eric scooped him up and put him in the chair with Santa. It was pretty funny. We got our first picture ever with Blake on Santa's lap. Drew didn't stay on the chair long enough for the photographer to get a pic with him, but I did sort of get a shot of it.
