Blake is a Houdini. He can get his arms out of most any carseat. Last year on the bus, they put this around his straps to keep him from taking his arms out:
They also tried this:
And this:
All of which Blake has been able to undo. So, yesterday his bus driver asked if I had any ideas. I said I'd try to come up with something. This is the best I could do:
Thus far, he doesn't have the hand strength to undo this type of clasp. I made this. From what, you ask? A dog collar. Seriously. I cut the collar and shortened it and sewed it back together. Now, before you worry about the safety value of this, he will still be restrained with with clip that comes with the carseat. This will just hold the straps together so he can't undo the the real one. I tested it on our carseat, and so far so good. We'll see how long it works. Or if it works at all.
