Back to school

Well, tomorrow is the big day.  We visited the school last week one day.  Blake has a new special ed teacher and we went in to meet her. She teaches third and fourth grade, so Drew remembered her from when he was a fourth grader.  Drew's special ed classroom is right next door to Blake's, so he visited a few minutes with his teacher.  She is the same from last year.

Last night was open house at the school.  Since I work there, I was able to get us in a few minutes early, to beat the crush of people.  The kids met their regular ed teachers and visited those classrooms.

Tomorrow starts third grade for Blake and sixth grade for Drew.  We are trying to integrate them as much as possible this year.  Blake will be spending the majority of his time in the regular ed classroom with his personal aide.  Drew will spend Social Studies, lunch, recess and specials with the regular ed. students and the rest of the time in the special ed classroom.

Praying for a successful year!

Hi Drew and Blake

I wrote this poem
Each of us are Special
Each of us different,
No one is the same
Each of are us are unique in our own way,
Those of us who have challenges, we smile through our day.
It doesen't matter what other's say
we are special anyway.
